Winter walks and inspiration
So before all the lurgy business we went for a lovely walk at the weekend in my favourite conditions, crisp, sunny wintery afternoons. Yes, I know my roots need doing, all taken care of now, I assure you.
My boys..................
Isn't the mushroom at the top of the page a fantastic colour? We walked along an old disused train track and went to have a look at a disused canal, am I alone in finding trees growing in still water really spooky?? Clumber Park really freaks me out in places. Yes, I'm sure it's just me.
Here's the inspiration bit, I love blogland, it's great to catch up on what everyone is up to and also a very friendly and inspiring place. One of the most inspiring people for me is Lynsey over at Swirlyarts. Who can take almost anything and turn it into something wonderful, to me that is true creative talent. It is great to buy a book, the latest fabric and make something but to repurpose something in a totally unique way, well that's what Lynsey does and does very well. Thank you for inspiring me and hope you don't mind that I've nicked, I mean erm, borrowed your lovely chicken design as I fancied making a few Christmas chickens for gifts this year. Don't know what these two ladies are chatting about but I made them a little tree to sit next to!! I have a few more cut out and ready to sew. I've made them by hand as it gave me something to do while sitting with poorly Twiglet.
Hope I'm not speaking too soon...........
But Twiglet is back at school today and although coughing and sneezing, is much, much better!!! long may it continue.
Thanks for the get well vibes and sympathy. It's good to tell those of you who've been ill recently or have littlies or recently had littlies (who are now a little bigger:) as you know just where I'm coming from. You also remember that when your children start school they pick up EVERYTHING. The barmy thing is Twiglet is not a sickly child and was a robust bumper of a baby and a robust boy but school germs you just can't escape them. Here's hoping his immune system will become bionic. I will be back soon with some Christmas makes!

Not again...............
My boy is poorly again - argh!!!!! We've been having real hassle at school as since he was last ill he just can't seem to settle back in again. Anyhoo took him in today and had a phonecall to collect him at lunch time. Poor boy had cried all morning at school and fallen asleep in class. Did I feel like a bad Mummy.
Took him to the docs this evening and he has a viral infection, swollen tonsils and glands in his neck and is soooooooooooo tired. So please send healing thoughts.

Going to make..........
Well, two posts in one day, whatever next!! I wasn't going to buy any more fabric but fancied a bit of festive loveliness so feast your eyes on this (The Mabel Lucie Atwell print is soooooo cute, I used some of it to make Coppo the chicken).
Made
Hooray it's Friday, so what have I been making this week. Here's my first ever chicken, thanks to lovely Lynsey from Swirlyarts for advice, as you can see you do not have to worry about me stealing your Chick Meister crown :) Twiglet has christened her Coppo and wanted me to include a photo of her speaking to the doctor, because she lays eggs all day, every day !!!
I also finally finished Twiglets denim jacket. (He wanted a pic of him in his new denim jacket, front and back !!! - that's his Friday face).
I like the way this turned out, it took weeks for Twiglet to decide between cars, cowboys or Stanley the dog!!!

Well I"ve finally taken the plunge...................
Hence the beautiful sunrise above as photographed by Mr Twiggy through our bedroom window. (I'm sure I'll be including a lot of his pics, hope he doesn't expect commision).
I love crafting and have ever since I was a little girl and spent hours playing with my mums button tin (which I've inherited) and amused my self by making dresses for my dollies - even though I'd cut their hair and given them green felt tip highlights. Punk Tiny Tears - I should have marketed this idea !!
Hope you enjoy my work as much as I've enjoyed others who are a daily inspiration to me.
I hope to share favourite blogs, books and anything and everything with you, so enough off my blithering on and watch this space...............................................
