He's a Big 'Un

Blimey you don't get many of those to the pound do you? We visited our local country fair last weekend, and it was great. Apparently 10,000 visitors converged on the little village of Emley during one day - phew! no wonder the fields were so muddy.Twiglet was rather taken with the hamsters. How about one of these lovely creatures? you could make your own wool.
I love living up here.
How sweet does Twiglet and his little cousin look hand in hand, holding onto their respective Daddies hands - bless. He is only 5 months older than his l'il cuz and they get on so well but we live far apart so see each other a handful of times a year, but they're great friends.

Here's a bag I made for the little lady in question, she seemed quite taken with it!
The next day we went to a very rainy Lotherton Hall and met this pretty fellow. We popped into town this evening to meet Mr Twigs from work and had a quick trip to Primark as I never seem to get to go shopping anywhere and I was after a snoogy fleece to make into some cosy cushions. I'm very pleased with this................

And these gorgeous tea towels are so lovely it would have been rude not to buy them.
All at the credit crunching price of £2 each !!!!

I have done a bit of crafting this week, as I am all sewed out, thought I'd do some ATCs. I completed these for the lucky bag challenge I'm taking part in this month on the ATC Addicts R Us forum. The remit was to use only things from the lucky bag you were provided with and basic stuff like glue scissors etc. I used so much glitter, it is still everywhere. I left a fairy dust trail on the bus this afternoon, which I thought was rather pretty :)Good news by the way my friend LOVED the beans on toast brooch and bando that I made her for Cropredy and will wear them with pride (see previous posts). She did think the brooch was hilarious too, it's good to know you're not the only strange person out there :)Finally, now I know that Simone has received her giveaway prize, here's a piccy. Or as they used to say on the TV programme, BULLSEYE, Here's What You Could Have Won ! sorry, I'll get my coat :)

As Simone is a cardmaker I tailored the prize to include stuff I thought she would enjoy using the most.

Have a good week.

love

Twiggy x

  1. Bullseye - one of the funniest programmes of the 80s if you ask me - and Bully's special prize....

Excellent Country Fair pics there - they're such great days out aren't they? I like ferret bingo myself.

Loving those teatowels too - Primark you say? - right, off there then.

Smashing crafty bounty there for Simone - lucky lady.

Have a great weekend with all the Twigs.

  3. The look of disappointment on the contestant's faces when they won the speedboat! Bulls are massive. The teatowels are nice, will you be cutting them up, or using them for drying up! x

  11. oh btw am crying over the teatowels. We don't have a primark here and I have to rely on people to give me lifts to the nearest ones, but they don't :((( so I am very jealous.

  13. Very nice Bull! I love county fairs but they are even better when you are competing. Next time you'll need to see if they do classes for all your beautiful craft work. I'm sure you'd win.

Nice tea towels - I've got a thing about tea towels now.

  14. Hello Sweetie,
Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a lovely comment...
I too, should be busy doing the housework, instead, I`m browsing ALL MY BLOG FRIENDS, and see what they have been up to...
You little boy, is very cute, indeed!
My Daniel, used to be fascinnated with Thomas The Tank, when he was 3, he knew almost all the names, used to watch all the videos and dvd`s, but, when he started school, His new mates, said that Thomas were for babies...
So sadly he isn`t into them anymore...
Now its Pokemon, Crazy Bones, Beyblade and Ben 10.
What will it be next, I don`t know!
Anyway, nice to meet you and I`m looking forward to stop by often!

  17. Twiggy,
Loved the HUGE cow! He IS a BIG UN! I want those tea towels they are precious. I think your bando looks great and you don't have Marge simpson hair at all! I can see you have that English green thumb because those flowers are utterly gorgeous. All truly medal-worthy. Hugs, Jan@daylilylane

  18. I love country fairs. You get to see some animals up close that you may not normally have the chance to. But a bit of distance from the first photo wouild be needed just to get a head start if he got cross! Sophie saw her first chicks at a country fair and the look on her face was a picture and I will remember it forever. XX

  20. Saw your package over at BigCat and the Yorkshire Gold got my attention. (I still prefer Typhoo but...)

The photo of the countryside gave me good memories of my years back in Knaresborough and all the jaunts I did with my two boys all over Yorkshire. ;-)

Well I"ve finally taken the plunge...................

After drooling over many blogs for months now I've decided to finally take the plunge, so here is my new dawn.
Hence the beautiful sunrise above as photographed by Mr Twiggy through our bedroom window. (I'm sure I'll be including a lot of his pics, hope he doesn't expect commision).

I love crafting and have ever since I was a little girl and spent hours playing with my mums button tin (which I've inherited) and amused my self by making dresses for my dollies - even though I'd cut their hair and given them green felt tip highlights. Punk Tiny Tears - I should have marketed this idea !!

Hope you enjoy my work as much as I've enjoyed others who are a daily inspiration to me.

I hope to share favourite blogs, books and anything and everything with you, so enough off my blithering on and watch this space...............................................
