Tatty Bye

My first poppy has flowered isn't it gorgeous ??? (Note Twiglets VERY scarey new climbing frame in the corner - I can't watch him walk across the TOP of the monkey bars - argh!). The plant has about 8 heads on it this year, most of the flowers I will miss as the Twiggys are decamping to Welsh Wales tomorrow - hooray !!!Poor old Twiglet had the day off school yesterday as he was CHASING at school on Tuesday, fell over his own feet and has a huge lump on his head, a cut nose and a very scabby knee :( he was very brave about it all. I said did you get a cuddle at school he said, no school doesn't do cuddles - so I jumped on him and cuddled him up. He said ok, Mummy it's not THAT bad - oy cheeky !!!

He did pretty well out of it though, I phoned Mr Twigs and told him that Twiglet had been VERY brave and would he fetch him a little prize, I was thinking a comic or some such. Mr Twigs brought home a model plane with an engine for him, I mean Twiglet to play with !!!
Righto, as ever I've left packing until the last minute, extreme packing is my favourite sport, so catch you all later. Enjoy the half term hols, those of you with little people.

Ta da !!!!

Trumpet fanfare, have you guessed what our squeal inducing, exciting news is?? Well we've been on a waiting list for 4 flippin years and finally have ..........................................................................................................................

our very own allotment - wahey !!To say we're all excited would be the understatement of the year. Twiglet has already planted his prize winning onions and we've only had it for a week!!!

We have lots to do, but are enjoying spending at least an hour up there every day, it's a short car journey away from our house. In the Summer hols Twiglet and I will be able to catch a bus up there as there is a bus stop right outside the site. We're just on the lookout for some kind of shed/shelter affair incase the heavens open and we're up there without the car.As part of his birthday haul Twiglet got a little metal spade, fork, trowel and gardening gloves and you should see him get stuck in, it's great :)

So far we have planted spuds, parsnips, pumpkins and prize winning onions. We also going to move my poor old greenhouse up there as it is not as exposed as our garden, so hopefully it won't blow away every Winter like it currently does. (Photo of Twiglet trying to create some shade, doesn't our neighbours plot look fab?)
So there we have it the Good Life comes to Twiggy Towers. Watch this space..........................

Free at last..........

Just a quickie to say thank goodness, I've finished work for a bit and the next too weekends are ours. (Very pleased to say this as I had to deal with a VERY rude and abusive man at work today, why do some folks think it's acceptable to shout and swear if things don't go their way). I did actually point out that his behaviour wouldn't change the fact our office is closed on a weekend, the big twat (I thought the big twat bit, didn't actually say it :) (Oooo it must be catching :)

Thankfully my lovely manager and director said they were going to phone him and tell him to shove his offer on a house up his backside - yay !!! Was perked up with lovely Twiglet cuddles when I got home too!!!

Anyhoo onto other more interesting things, we're off to Thomasland next weekend for little chaps birthday, he's 5 on Wednesday - yikes !!The following weekend we're away on our hols and frankly I can't wait to kick back and have some quality time with my boys, I've had a LOT of real life crap to deal with recently.

I also have some exciting news - squeal - but more on that when all the details have been finalised.

Bye for now.

Are you ready ???

Have you mentally prepared yourself? Or am I the only one that will miss the misogynist dinosaur :)

Don't forget to watch part one of the grand finale tonight.

This is the only tv programme that Mr Twigs and I BOTH enjoy.

Honestly, what a year first lovely Mr Tennant and now Gene Hunt is leaving us.........

2 down, 1 to go ...............

I'm so glad you'd like to join my cake eating party, that's the only policy I have so far. I'll get back to you with a comprehensive manifesto at a later date.

Well poor old woe is me Twiggy was working again this weekend, one more to go and then two weekends off. Will I be resting? will I heck.
It's wee Twiglets 5th !!! birthday on the 19th, so the weekend after next we're off to Thomasland - wahey!!
The weekend after that, we're away on our holidays. Woohoo. busy, busy!!! (Vicky, we will be in the vicinity, you have been warned!)So we finally got our car on Saturday, I usually pick old lady names as you know, so over the years we've had, Mitzi Mitsubishi, Rene Renault, Mabel Micra. This time I asked Twiglet to pick a name in this vein, he came up with 3D pitstop :) then Alex cos he says our car is a boy. I think it's a girl so Alex will do for us both.
I'll post pics when I get time to take some.

Another busy week ahead, my little social butterfly is going to his mates birthday party on Tuesday, we go swimming on Wednesdy evening, collecting my Mum on Thursday and Twiglet is at his girlyfriends for tea on Friday and then it's back to work for me - flippin heck !!!So does anyone else feel a big anti-climax after the election, it's like getting your Chrimbo pressies a week after Christmas isn't it :)
Right, just to prove that I've even found a little time to do a few makes inbetween the working and domesticity, I've sprinkled my post with pics of the ATCs I've made for this months ATC swaps. (Note, Mr Twigs, lovely wooden floor too).
I've got to go and clear the decks now, my boys spent the day at Kirklees Light Railway yesterday and Twiglet bought me a very jolly multi-coloured pencil. However, the house still looks a little ahem, lived in :)

Catch you later

Have you done it yet???

I have, here I am do a bit of promotion :) Regardless of how you vote I hope you find time to do it. I don't really like soapboxing on my blog but I think if you have a vote you MUST use it. I always think about the countries where folks don't get the opportunity and I'm thankful we live in a democracy.

I don't know if this would surprise you but I am quite interested in politics and I did intend to do a politics degree when I was a young un but didn't get the grades I required to get into the excellent politics department at Leeds Uni. Ho hum, perhaps I'll have to get in a grass roots level, now that would be interesting ;) The only problem is I'm not certain I could attach myself to one specific party, perhaps it's time to start the Independant Twiggy Party !!! come join me and let's eat cake !!!

Well I"ve finally taken the plunge...................

After drooling over many blogs for months now I've decided to finally take the plunge, so here is my new dawn.
Hence the beautiful sunrise above as photographed by Mr Twiggy through our bedroom window. (I'm sure I'll be including a lot of his pics, hope he doesn't expect commision).

I love crafting and have ever since I was a little girl and spent hours playing with my mums button tin (which I've inherited) and amused my self by making dresses for my dollies - even though I'd cut their hair and given them green felt tip highlights. Punk Tiny Tears - I should have marketed this idea !!

Hope you enjoy my work as much as I've enjoyed others who are a daily inspiration to me.

I hope to share favourite blogs, books and anything and everything with you, so enough off my blithering on and watch this space...............................................
