Halcyon Wintry Days

It has been a lovely day here today so we got wrapped up warm and went for a walk in some local woods, they really are beautiful Mr Twigs has discovered loads of local walks around that area so we will definitely return. I LOVE Wintery Sunday afternoon walks.
I had my hair cut yesterday, can you tell :)
Who would have thought there were snakes in West Yorkshire woods, we were surprised.
Well it turned out poor old Twiglet has got a chest infection so the very lovely doctor gave him a I am a star sticker and a bottle of medicine and although he is still poorly at least he is sleeping through at night again. He had to miss the fancy dress day at nursery on Friday, so wore his cowboy costume at home and made biscuits with Grandma while I was at work. Very tasty they were too (that's why half the plate disappeared before we took a photo)Mr Twigs deserves a mention, here is the Ivor the Engine he and Twiglet made. Not only that he's made potato and pancetta (we didn't have any bacon before you accuse us of being poncey:) soup for tea AND homemade bread to go with it, what a star!I spent a bit of time clearing out my greenhouse this afternoon, a sure sign Winter is here, it doesn't seem two minutes since we were checking for ripe tomatoes on a daily basis. I've made all my November and December ATCs for Papercrafters this weekend. Have just finished a few bits and bobs off that I can't show you yet, including my Christmas Decoration Swap for Jennie, hope you like it Jennie.
I'm currently making a pompom snowman for Twiglet and might get my knitting needles out and have a go at some Christmas jiffyknits from here.http://www.amazon.co.uk/Greenhowes-Jiffyknits-Exciting-Garter-Stitch/dp/B0010YRLB6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1226855318&sr=1-1 my knitting skills are rubbish so no laughing ok?

I'm VERY excited as we booked tickets for us to go on the Santa Express in December, today, steam trains, Father Christmas and sherry - woohoo!!!!
We're also hoping to have Bonfire Night on Thursday - 3rd attempt due to illness, so keep your fingers crossed.
Righto off to scoff my lovely tea now.
If you're one of the millions suffering from colds/coughs/lurgy hope you're soon feeling better.
Have a great week.
Twiggy x
PS Have just popped my brooches in my Etsy shop.

  1. I know what you mean about time passing so fast. I'm sure It wasn't that long ago, I had more tomatoes than I could cope with in my garden, and now the Christmas cake's in storage.

    Good luck with the bonfire!

  12. Poor little Twiglet having to miss fun stuff at school although I am sure he enjoyed making biscuits and playing cowboys with his grandma. You have been so busy on the crafting front, I really don't know where you find the time? I hope you all start to feel a lot better soon. I recommend more of that lovely soup that hubby made. x

Well I"ve finally taken the plunge...................

After drooling over many blogs for months now I've decided to finally take the plunge, so here is my new dawn.
Hence the beautiful sunrise above as photographed by Mr Twiggy through our bedroom window. (I'm sure I'll be including a lot of his pics, hope he doesn't expect commision).

I love crafting and have ever since I was a little girl and spent hours playing with my mums button tin (which I've inherited) and amused my self by making dresses for my dollies - even though I'd cut their hair and given them green felt tip highlights. Punk Tiny Tears - I should have marketed this idea !!

Hope you enjoy my work as much as I've enjoyed others who are a daily inspiration to me.

I hope to share favourite blogs, books and anything and everything with you, so enough off my blithering on and watch this space...............................................
