This theme continues with a pic of half of one of the 6 bags of Country Living, Homes & Antiques, Period Home etc etc I received from a lovely Freecycler the other day.
Here are the 25 cross stitch mags I collected today, along with a ton of cross stitch kits and goodies!!! I am VERY excited about this bundle particularly as the include 2 peacock cross stitch designs as well as The Snowman and Thomas the Tank Engine, all things I've been searching for for ages, serendipity indeed. The magazines will keep me occupied when Twiglet starts school inbetween the HUGE list of things I have to do around the house (we moved here in 2005 and still have boxes that need unpacking!!!) and sobbing into my pillow obviously.
I received a call for Dr Twigs the other day as these old ladies Nellie (on the left) and Twinky (on the right) have obviously been taking part in illegal wrestling matches while we were on holiday. The good news is, Twinky has had the tear in her neck stitched up and Nellie has been reunited with her tail. I've had Nellie since I was a baby and her ears and tail have been sewn back on SO many times, she has loads of bald patches - it's the drool you know, yes even today :)
Yet another Freecycle goody we received ages ago was a dinghy for Twiglet which we're planning on taking to the seaside tomorrow now we have bought some oars to go with it, which will be very jolly.
Hope you like the lily at the top of the screen it's one from our garden.
We went out to the local open farm with our friends on Thursday - we haven't seen them for 2 months!!! - you'll have to take my word that we had a fab time as I forgot my camera - doh!!
Another 2nd time round favourite is this book that I bought from a YMCA charity shop.
I'm really enjoying it, a beautiful book indeed.
Righto, I have a hankering for pancakes and fresh orange juice and dear Mr Twigs has gone to make some, what a top hubby.
Now you tell me what you think is better second time around.

ReplyDeleteWell you grabbed yourself a fabby stash of magazines young lady and what a scoop having the cross stitch kits intact. Don't suppose that happens often.
ReplyDeleteAlways enjoy homemade soup better the next day ... must be because all the different veggies have a stock pot party during the night and get well and truly mixed together .... mmmmmmmm yummy with crusty bread and lurpak.
