Progress on the allotment and check out my buns !!!

Phew isn't it hot?? We're having another busy week. Twiglet had an environmental day on Monday. Yesterday the whole school (all 72 of them :) went for a 2 mile walk around the various pretty public footpaths in the village. Followed by a Teddy Bears Picnic and they ended the day with a Mini Olympics. (School wasn't this exciting in my day) They have a local artist going in on Friday to help them make Mod Roc sculptures, so we've been saving LOTS of packaging.

I thought he'd be exhausted by the time he got home last night but he still insisted we go swimming so he was a bit of a tired teddy this morning.

His girlyfriend is coming round for tea tonight so I hope he manages to last until bedtime!!!

On the way home from the swimming pool last night we called into our lottie to do a spot of watering and I thought I'd take a few snaps. Now don't get too excited, it doesn't look great as we have a LOT of work to do and due to me working most weekends recently we haven't had time.

However, I've got the next two weekends off work so we're hoping to get stuck in.

It's our 14th wedding anniversary next week and my Mums 75th birthday so lots going on !!

Anyhoo here's the pics.Starting with Twiglets pumpkins, there are 12 in all.Add ImageTwiglets parsnips, we have a very long row of these !!!A long shot of the plot, we are trying to smother the weeds - they seem to grow twice as fast as the veg!Mr Twigs spuds - so to speak :)Onions.

We also have butternut squash, leeks, cabbages, broccoli and a few fruit bushes.
Of course we've also done a bit of baking, wouldn't be a post without cake would it? Check out our lurid buns - I think we excelled ourselves!Oooooooo and a bit of pizza.

So there we have it, a post all about food !!

Have a great weekend.

love
Twiggy x

  5. Great music! I popped over here from Forest Poppy blog and kept your playlist on in the background while I wrote my latest post! Live version of Sunday Bloody Sunday is one of my favourite songs ever!

  6. Last day of school for us on Friday! Woohooo!!!! Can't wait. :)

The allotment is coming on great hon, it takes a lot of time and effort to get rid of the weeds. I know I took nigh on 17 bags of weeds down to the skip last week and that's not even half my garden done. Plus the weeds only flaming grow again! :(

  7. Parsnips are one of my favorite vegetables, they are so versatile.I use them for parsnip soup, steamed and buttered and roasted with the Sunday joint,so I am glad you planted a long row of them, you obviously like them as well.!!
The cakes look like the ones I make with my Grand daughter, nothing like home baking with a child.

  8. And of course all that food makes it my kind of post! Allotments are such hard work to begin with, but you'll get there soon by the sound of it. x

Well I"ve finally taken the plunge...................

After drooling over many blogs for months now I've decided to finally take the plunge, so here is my new dawn.
Hence the beautiful sunrise above as photographed by Mr Twiggy through our bedroom window. (I'm sure I'll be including a lot of his pics, hope he doesn't expect commision).

I love crafting and have ever since I was a little girl and spent hours playing with my mums button tin (which I've inherited) and amused my self by making dresses for my dollies - even though I'd cut their hair and given them green felt tip highlights. Punk Tiny Tears - I should have marketed this idea !!

Hope you enjoy my work as much as I've enjoyed others who are a daily inspiration to me.

I hope to share favourite blogs, books and anything and everything with you, so enough off my blithering on and watch this space...............................................
