I say boo, to the fact I was asked to put myself forward to be a parent governor and was beaten to it by ahem..... someone who sent his wife canvassing for him - I kid you not. However, the Pollyanna in me does like the fact that many people have said we voted for you, which is nice.
Boo as Twiglet wasn't voted onto the school council - we told him he's ace, so there!!
Boo as you may have seen on TV, like a lot of the country we have had rotten weather up here high in the Pennines. Check out our allotment, that is now 80% under water, it was like this at the beginning of October, then after this grotty week we are back to square one.
So that's the boos out of the way - are you still reading???
Here's some yays!!!
Yay - Before the crappola weather we had a lovely walk on some of the footpaths around our village.
Yay - We took Twiglet to his friend's birthday party the other day which was ace and involved exotic animals, I held a big hairy spider and a very beautiful snake - brave Twiggy !!
All the children and parents had a great time.
Yay - I appear to have found my crafting mojo, I think it's the countdown to Christmas and I have to take my mind off Richard Armitage disappearing from our screens.
Yay - Miranda is back next Monday - super ace!!!
Big yay - Booked tickets for something VERY exciting this week for my birthday in January, but more on that later. So are you making preparations for Christmas? Twiglet insisted we buy a countdown to Christmas Santa, so I thought I'd pop one on my blog too.
Thanks for listening and take care.
Twiggy x
PS I promise not to gripe on my next post, normal service will resume.
the allotment , oh no after all the work you have all put in, especially twiglet :-(
ReplyDeletegood luck with the new job, but sorry to hear the news about your friend's Dad, it makes other stuff seem unimportant doesn't it...
Josie x
Hugs for you ad your friend.
ReplyDeleteI have been in the running twice for a parent govenor opost at school and both times been out voted :( Elizabeth hasn't yet made it onto the school council (and she's now Y5), not telling you this to stop the 'drive and ambition' but to just say it's their loss and life goes on etc.
Hope the lottie is soon drained and drainage sorted so new crops will be safe.
And go you with a new job!!
xxx
sorry for all the bad news up there :(
ReplyDeletebut the countdown to christmas is a fantastic idea!
could you please e-mail me via my blog~i have something here that i think would be perfect for a young master twiglet ;)
ReplyDeleteso sorry to hear about all the crap stuff - especially the sad news about your friend's dad. Such a shame about your allotment, i know how much hard work that is! At least there is some good stuff -look forward to finding out what you are doing for your birthday, mine's in January too!!!
ReplyDeletex
Poor you eith the allotment - your glass is allowed to be emptied on this count! Parent govenors are hilarious. Neither of the ones at my kids infant or junior schools actually ever took their kids to school - always sent with childminders as they were too busy climbing the corporate ladder - of which being a parent govenor was obviously a career advantage
ReplyDeleteHurray for Miranda - I love her! xxxxx.
Hello Twiggy
ReplyDeleteSuch ups and downs - don't apologise for sharing the 'boo's' as they are part of the whole you ;-)
Sending positive thoughts and love for your friend and her Dad. And delighted to hear you've got some work and that your crafting mojo is in full swing! I'm preparing for Christmas too and loving it :-)
Thank you, Twiggy, for your kind words over at mine with regards our special news this week,
Denise x
What an eventful time you've been having. Such a bummer about the allotment but I'm glad you are balancing the downs with the ups and coming out on top. Have a good (better) week.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to read your bad news but your list of positives is fab. i did a little dance when I saw the adverts for Miranda this week. The first series had me literally doing that disgusting horse snorting laugh - she is SO funny!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lot of boos and such a shame about your allotment. At least there are some Yays, Miranda is so funny.
