Small Changes

So here we are in 2011.
I don't make resolutions as I always feel they have the opposite effect on me.  It is the same with diets, if I say I'm on a diet I think about food all the time and eat more.  Instead I have a list of small changes that I aim to make for my own benefit really.
Small things that others might not notice but I know the difference they will make to me.

You may have noticed that I'm currently tinkering with the look of my blog!

I started today, since having Twiglet I seem to have turned into someone who wears black and denim constantly.  Today I am wearing a pretty green button top and a lovely dark red skirt with intricate cream embroidered flowers- I feel more bold!!

When I came downstairs I got a round of applause and a hug for wearing a skirt.  Twiglet did ask where my trousers were, ahem.
So my 2011 will be a year of small changes, anyone care to join me? and what small changes will you be making?  Remember, big things start with small changes.

Righto, I'm being summoned to watch Wall-E and fancy doing a bit of stitching, so bye for now.

love

Twiggy x

  1. Happy New Year Twiggy! I totally agree about the diet thing. Wonder why we feel like eating more when we say we are going on a diet? I also wonder why people push food at you more when you tell them that you are cutting down. Strange isn't it.

  2. I'm not making any resolutions or grand plans this year ... but I will join you in some small changes! I would like to step out of my comfort zone more often. It's funny about clothes ... when I went back to work after my illness I was determined not to fall back into the 'black trousers and a top' routine ... I've been wearing skirts and boots and prettier colours. It really gives you a boost doesn't it! Good luck with your little changes!

Yes I'm with you in the small changes. This morning I got up and did forty minutes of exercise on the wii, then I got dressed in something different than my usual dark leggings and dress and put on some swanky trousers and a red cardigan (bold) so yes Twiggy lets make lots of small changes xxx

  6. Happy New Year to you too! There are a few things i would like to do this year - firstly learn how to make bread properly, not just in my breadmaker, secondly not slouch about in comfy clothes all the time and make more effort!!!

  7. Happy New Year Twiggy I couldn't agree more about the diet thing. I never make resolutions either but I'm with you on the small changes although I'm starting the year with 2 big changes. We are moving south due to DH changing job and also this means I have given up work and for now am not intending to look for another job. We will see how things go.

  8. Happy New Year!

I love the idea of making small changes, anything else seems a bit hard, and/or too drastic to action immediately, so I think it's a FAB idea!

    :o)

    Hugs xx

  9. Oh that outfit sounds so pretty I bet you look gorgeous hon.
I'm like you I don't do resolutions, I just have aims that I'd like to achieve. I didn't do too badly last year so I'm hoping I can keep it up again this year.

Well I"ve finally taken the plunge...................

After drooling over many blogs for months now I've decided to finally take the plunge, so here is my new dawn.
Hence the beautiful sunrise above as photographed by Mr Twiggy through our bedroom window. (I'm sure I'll be including a lot of his pics, hope he doesn't expect commision).

I love crafting and have ever since I was a little girl and spent hours playing with my mums button tin (which I've inherited) and amused my self by making dresses for my dollies - even though I'd cut their hair and given them green felt tip highlights. Punk Tiny Tears - I should have marketed this idea !!

Hope you enjoy my work as much as I've enjoyed others who are a daily inspiration to me.

I hope to share favourite blogs, books and anything and everything with you, so enough off my blithering on and watch this space...............................................
