It's nearly Mothers Day

Well as you know it's Mothers Day in the UK on Sunday, now I'm posting early as I'm going to be working all weekend, including Mothers Day - boo. Mr Twiggy has booked the day off work next Wednesday, so that's my Mothers Day - bit like the Queen having two birthdays.
Anyhow, I made my lovely Mum a card this year incorporating some of my favourite things namely flowers and buttons, I also made a little bag but haven't had the chance to upload any pics yet.
So Happy Mothers Day to you all whether you're a mum, granny, auntie, friend, loved one, whether your children are the human, furry or the feathered kind. To those of you who will be missing your Mum this weekend a big hug from me.

Earth Shattering Day.

Well did you feel it? We woke up just before 1am thinking why are the paintings banging on the bedroom wall and it was an earthquake, in Yorkshire, whatever next !!! Needless to say my little Twiglet slept straight through the commotion.

Before I go on, big apologies for any typos, I had an argument with a can yesterday and my poor thumb got rather a nasty cut, so I have a bandaged left thumb which makes driving, crafting and typing very difficult :(

Anyhow, trumpet fanfare, exciting news. The lovely Jules of Creative Makes has nominated me for the You Make My Day Award. How lovely and right back at you Jules, if it hadn't been for your encouragement I wouldn't have taken the plunge. I'm amazed that I've won the award as it is incredibly early days for me but I'm so chuffed :)

Here's what I have to do.............

1) Write a post with links to 5 blogs you find of interest and that inspire you.

2) Acknowledge the post of the award giver.

3) Display the logo "You Make My Day"

4) Tell the award winners that they have won by commenting on their blogs with the news.

So here goes, here are a few of my favourite blogs.

Firstly I absolutely love Belle and Boo, Mandy is an illustrator and her blog is simply gorgeous, her work brings back so many childhood memories and is so evocative. http://belleandboo.blogspot.com/

I also enjoy reading Edwina's Random Ramblings, I love the cards and the chatty friendly style.http://tullavilla.blogspot.com/

I'm enjoying reading Martines blog, The Craft Table, fab cards.http://thecrafttable.blogspot.com/

I also love Molly Cupcakes. A really lovely blog and Mollys designs are just so sweet, my little Twiglet has one of her baking sets and just loves it.http://mollycupcakes.blogspot.com/

Finally, I love Posie Gets cozy, beautiful clothes to drool over and chocolate cake, what more could a girl want ?? http://rosylittlethings.typepad.com/

Here we go.................

Well I've had a look through my recent craft projects and selected a few for your delectation, no giggling ok, I'm a novice. Firstly here's a photo of the poor ugly sock monkey that I made for my little boy. He christened him GUGGY, I thought he looked a little sad so I have since created Mrs GUGGY - Frankensteins creations have nothing on mine, thankfully my son loves them.

ATCs............................

I must mention a group that I've been a member of for around 2 years. Papercraftersunited. we make cards, support various causes and have competitions and challenges whilst having a great deal of fun. Papercraftersunited is owned by a lady called Margaret who is based in Spain, in fact there are members from the UK and all over the world which really adds to the mix.

There is also a sister group that runs a very popular monthly ATC swap and is run by Margaret and Jo. Above, I have included a few of ATCs that I've done in the past to give you a taster.
Don't take my word for it though, click on the link on the right you won't regret it.

Well I"ve finally taken the plunge...................

After drooling over many blogs for months now I've decided to finally take the plunge, so here is my new dawn.
Hence the beautiful sunrise above as photographed by Mr Twiggy through our bedroom window. (I'm sure I'll be including a lot of his pics, hope he doesn't expect commision).

I love crafting and have ever since I was a little girl and spent hours playing with my mums button tin (which I've inherited) and amused my self by making dresses for my dollies - even though I'd cut their hair and given them green felt tip highlights. Punk Tiny Tears - I should have marketed this idea !!

Hope you enjoy my work as much as I've enjoyed others who are a daily inspiration to me.

I hope to share favourite blogs, books and anything and everything with you, so enough off my blithering on and watch this space...............................................
