Rain,Rain go away and an award.............

Blimey will it EVER stop raining. From our window I can see a farm with a small campsite across the valley and those poor campers in their tents and caravans - bleurgh!
I don't know what's got into me but I'm having a major declutter at the moment, I cleared out my porch last weekend - massive job and put a load of stuff on Freecycle and a bit on Ebay so have had a stream of callers!
Next job Twiglets 3 toy boxes! will have to be when he's in bed though as he isn't willing to part with anything!
The potty training is going well so he's earning lots of stickers and Thomas books :)
Anyhoo, we have got rid of the lurgi but I have now hurt my knee!! old croc or what? so Twiglet and I had a mummy and Twiglet day today. It started with air drying clay, honestly I'm sure this is the messiest (is that a word?) invention ever, I had to hose Twiglet down afterwards!!!
Next up Playdoh, I LOVE Playdoh, love the smell it reminds me of my 1970s childhood like nothing else. I got some for Christmas one year and made my extremely hung over (much older I hasten to add) sister sniff it until she was sick - ha ha, evil little Twiggy :) The lovely likenesses are from left to right. Grandma Twiggy, Twiggy (love my Gok Wan style quiff), Twiglet and Mr Twiggy, who HAD to have glasses!!!!Not forgetting buttons, start `em young - that's what I say!I've been fairly industrious this week finally finishing Grandma Twiggys birthday cross stitch 3 days late, which she loved. Also whistled off this little one for Mr Twigs cousins new baby Jemima (isn't that such a gorgeous name ?) Check out these gorgeous little shoes that I purchased from a fellow etsy lady for Jemima. I've ordered some other stuff too from America which hasn't arrived yet, so will blog it next time. And here are some Artist Trading Cards I've made for the July swap on Papercraftersunited. The first ones are entitled the colour blue, the second set are butterflies. My charity shop finds this week are all book related. In a bid to read more classics and less erm... lightweight stuff I thought righto after my hols I'll get stuck in (secretly it's to enable me to answer more questions when watching University Challenge than Mr Twigs, he's such a swotty pants, I'm good at literature and art, he's good at maths, science, geography.................... oh blimmin everything - pah!). I had to read a fair amount of `classic lit' at school and college and it put me off for a while . Anyhoo we were checking out my fave charity shop this week and I bought a bundle of books at a princely 30p each. I've just read The Mayor of Casterbridge and couldn't put it down and next I'm onto Tess (see above) aren't the books pretty?
I received a lovely award from the very lovely Daisie of Daisie Days fame, thank you lady, I love reading your blog too, so right back at you Mrs. I've also been lucky enough to receive this from Tullavilla @ Edwinas Random Ramblings, thank you so much. both of these lovely ladies details are in my favourite blog list.

Here are the rules for this award:
1. The winner can put the logo on their blog.
2. Link to the person you received your award from.
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
4. Put links of those blogs on yours.
5. Leave a message on the blogs you've nominated.
6. Wear a posh frock if you like, lots of bling and make a speech, but - sorry - no red carpet

As ever, I've stolen the rules from Daisies blog and I'm too lazy erm stupid erm lazy to set up links so I'd like to pass it onto the following peeps and their blogs are on my favourites list.

Jennie @Falling Down the Rabbit Hole -

Jo @ Home is Where the Heart Is

Sal @ Sals Snippets

Mary-Kate @ La Vie Est Belle

Vicky @ Anglesey Allsorts

Jo @ Blissed Out

LizzieJane@LizzieJane

Ok, I'm going to watch some stuff we recorded last night, ending with Still Game, I can't recommend this enough, it has me in stitches, on BBC2, Thursday nights at 10pm, about a group of old blokes in Scotland (one of them reminds me of my Dad - you'll have to see if you can guess which one!) the eagle eyed ones among you will recognise Granny Murray from Me Too in there - that's assuming you're brainwashed by CBeebies on a daily basis of course!

Bye for now and here's hoping the rain will stop soon!!!!

Jemima is a gorgeous name! I keep thinking I shall attempt to make a Jemima rag doll like the one from playschool but have to get around to it.

  7. I found you via Sal's Snippets. What an informative post! There is so much to comment on! As for making your sister sniff playdough until she felt sick, that's the sort of thing I would have done to my sister! There wasn't much sisterly love between us! I love the Gok Wan hairdo! Your cross-stitch is great and I am just getting into ATC cards too. I also have a button collection courtesy of my nan.

  13. Hi Twiggy, well done on getting another award. We've had no connection on our internet for days and I have only just been able to log back on to the blogs. You've accomplished a lot since you got back from your hols, I must get motivated too and check out this Freecycle? Thanks so much for passing on yet another award to me, you are way too generous, but very, very, very kind! Some great crafting has been going on. The smell of Playdoh reminds me of primary school and so do Weebles, remember them? x

Congratulations on your award(s). I hope you manage to enjoy those classics - I get the urge and then a few pages in, and think 'sod it, this is too much like hard work' so put them down again.

Well I"ve finally taken the plunge...................

After drooling over many blogs for months now I've decided to finally take the plunge, so here is my new dawn.
Hence the beautiful sunrise above as photographed by Mr Twiggy through our bedroom window. (I'm sure I'll be including a lot of his pics, hope he doesn't expect commision).

I love crafting and have ever since I was a little girl and spent hours playing with my mums button tin (which I've inherited) and amused my self by making dresses for my dollies - even though I'd cut their hair and given them green felt tip highlights. Punk Tiny Tears - I should have marketed this idea !!

Hope you enjoy my work as much as I've enjoyed others who are a daily inspiration to me.

I hope to share favourite blogs, books and anything and everything with you, so enough off my blithering on and watch this space...............................................
