It's that time again ...............

(Here's a photo from one of our local Wintery walks last weekend).
The time of year when I get out my old battered copy of A Christmas Carol, I love this book, particularly this copy. I was given it by a lovely old bloke who used to have a second hand book shop, we used to spend many Saturday mornings there. He'd give us coffee, tell us all about his belief in UFOs and hold forth on all kinds of topics. We'd then buy a few books and he'd always throw a `bit extra in'. Just check out these colour plates. Magical. The little chap in the photo is my darling Dad when he was very little, I keep this photo in my book as a little bookmark, it always makes me smile because Twiglet really looks like him. Think it's the cheeky twinkle in his eyes. (Apologies for sideways photo!)
I'd just like to say, thank you sooooo much for all your lovely get well messages.
In other news, I seem to have been writing or making these all week (on top of the pile is Twiglets letter to Father Christmas). He dictated it to me, it says. Dear Santa, I have been really, really good please would you bring me a motor speed Thomas, Special Delivery Service and alsorts! He has been very good this week, had to go for his nasty pre school jabs - 2 at once and was sooooooooooooo brave, he's suffering a bit now but what a star.

Here's a bit of Christmas crafting for you. This mess is hopefully going to result in reindeers, will blog them later.A WIP by me - blimey, me, knitting...........................I received this lovely bundle - my charity competition prize from Margaret who runs Papercraftersunited - what a lot of lovely stash.
I've mad another batch of chilli jam for Christmas pressies this afternoon, the house smells lovely, great for clearing the sinuses. I LOVE my jam pan another bit of Freecycle gorgeousness.
We're keeping our poor old postie very busy at the moment as I'm so averse to shopping I 'm doing my Chrimbo shopping on line and getting it delivered. I really must buy him a pressie, poor chap.
Big thank you to Solsticedreamer for my tag, I'll post it at a later date when I've had a good think about it.
We're all more or less better now (apart from post jab nasties) I went to the doctors the other day, turns out I've had a chest infection for the last 3 weeks - urgh!!! so I have some nuclear strength antibiotics and had to promise not to wait 3 weeks before going to see her next time I'm ill - oops!!
Did you get any snow this week? we had quite a downfall on Wednesday night and like an eejit I didn't take any photos durr.
I also acquired last weekend, something I've always wanted and think it might be love but that can keep until next time.
Take care and enjoy your festive preparations. Don't get stressy!
love
Twiggy x
PS I'm quite giddy as I actually made an Etsy sale today, just as I was thinking about throwing the towel in too, a thousand thank yous kind buyer :)

  1. Could that WIP be a little critter? Those brown things look like they could be legs?!
And painty feet is the greatest feeling. We lay down lining paper and walk all over it and then use it as wrapping paper, can't wait to see the reindeer!!
Glad you are all feeling better!

Well I"ve finally taken the plunge...................

After drooling over many blogs for months now I've decided to finally take the plunge, so here is my new dawn.
Hence the beautiful sunrise above as photographed by Mr Twiggy through our bedroom window. (I'm sure I'll be including a lot of his pics, hope he doesn't expect commision).

I love crafting and have ever since I was a little girl and spent hours playing with my mums button tin (which I've inherited) and amused my self by making dresses for my dollies - even though I'd cut their hair and given them green felt tip highlights. Punk Tiny Tears - I should have marketed this idea !!

Hope you enjoy my work as much as I've enjoyed others who are a daily inspiration to me.

I hope to share favourite blogs, books and anything and everything with you, so enough off my blithering on and watch this space...............................................
