Very little done on the crafting front apart from my Wedding WIP which is coming on nicely, I have done a lot of housework but that isn't very interesting so I won't photograph it (also don't want you to see what a slattern I am, Anthea Turner has nothing to worry about from me).
We took a very excited young Twiglet over to the National Railway Museum last Saturday to see the newly built steam engine Tornado, isn't she a beauty? (is a train a she or a he?)
Flipping heck, I've just realised my first blog birthday was on the 23rd February and this is also my 100th post!! Well it's been an interesting year and I've made lots of lovely bloggy friends and had lots of fun so I'm so very pleased I took the plunge over a year ago.
Thought I'd have a little bloggy giveaway of one of my button brooches.
So staying with the theme of being nice. Tell me about something nice that someone has done for you in the past. doesn't have to be a grand gesture, but something unexpected that made your day.
I've been lucky enough to receive surprises from lovely bloggy friends over the past year, so a big thank you to you all. Another little thing that I really appreciated especially with hindsight was when I got my first car , MANY years ago and Mr dear old Dad used to get up early every morning to clear the ice of it for me and get her running. It's funny how you realise how important little kindnesses like that are, when you get older.
I'll draw a winner in a week or so.
Righto off to collect wee Twiglet from nursery now and play Kerplunk 100 times - at least!!!
Keep smiling and have a great weekend.
love
Twiggy x
PS I did make this scrapbook page this week, my Mum is going to kill me - hahahahaha
PPS Little snippet from The Little Book of Yorkshire dialect for Louise @ Home is Where the Heart Is (I love this book and might add some more later)- Two old Yorkshire chaps, about to pass each other in the street, hesitated, thinking that they knew each other. Realising they were mistaken, one of them said: Well, Ah'll bi blowed! Ah thowt it wor thee - an' tha thowt it wor me... An' by gow, it's nawther on us!
It's a fabulous museum! We went in November and loved it all. Bet Twiglet did too ;-)
ReplyDeleteShips and sailing vessels are always female but I don't know about trains...?
ReplyDeleteThe woman with the beautiful boy looks quite nice really :-)
Nice things: lots really, I must just know nice people but recently a bloggy lady not far away passed a big bag of little boys clothes onto me instead of taking them to the charity shop. How nice was that!??
Only 100 posts, I thought you talked more than that! Congratulastions!!!

This is a beautiful post. Just what i need right now. Love your attitude and your pictures. I live in a railway history soaked town although my interest in trains is not huge but proud of living in Darlington anyway.
ReplyDeleteWhat has someone done that is nice ?? Well i have had so much support this last week that there are too many people to mention. I have tried to thank them all .. Its wonderful to be part of blogland and its amazing network of friends
Sending hugs to you ... my newest friend ... i hope

Hi, enjoying your posts. The trains are lovely. Hmm, nice things. Random help from strangers is always nice. I think it's nice when I'm trying to get off the very crowded bus in the morning with my little niece that another passenger will pass the unwieldy scooter down the bus to me out of the luggage rack, even though they risk a clunk from the pesky thing! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHi, thank you for stopping by my blog and saying hello.
ReplyDeleteWow, you look like you had fun at the train museum. We were there last year when they had the Thomas the Tank Engine event, I think it was during one of the school holidays. We live very close to the Shildon 'Locomotive' train museum, it's much smaller, but very nice. The webiste for them is http://www.locomotion.uk.com/ We usually refer to trains in the male sense, not sure why?!
Hmm, lets see, the nicest thing someone has done for me is when my daughter (nearly 4) gave me the Valentines card that she made at nursery, she could have chosen to give it to anyone and she chose me. It was especially nice because (due to hubby not agreeing with the whole Valentines concept) it was the only one I got! I hope this counts as a nice thing?
Have a great day.
The railway museum is great isn't it? not been for ages though, we don't live that near anymore:( Sounds like you all had a fab day out.
ReplyDeleteNice things, well there are lots, last year my friend took me out for lunch unexpectedly which was fab.
Lots of little acts of kindness from friends and family too many to mention
My boys love that museum but I have told my husband that when they leave home that I never need do a train/plane/car museum again ever in my life!
ReplyDeleteAfter a bad 2 yr old tantrum at toddler group, I got home to find a bunch of daffodils waiting for me.
Oh, thanks Twiggy, I love different dialects, it may take me a few minutes to work this one out! I like the 'nice' logo on the website, I may suggest presenting this to customers at work! The photo of you and Twiglet enjoying your day out with the trains is also really nice! Recently my manager gave me a garden book, which she had discovered in a charity shop during her lunch hour, a very nice deed and it did make my day! x
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 100 posts! Thanks for sharing those wonderful pic's of the railway museum what a lovely place to visit.
ReplyDeleteNice things, hmmm, well my hubby made lunch and dinner for me when I was sick last week, what a treat that was.
