Emley Show 2012 and some other stuff................

Phew another whizzy week, this week we went to Beaumont Park with our pals - and hid under trees when it rained :)

Spent two days over at my lovely Mums and visited Cusworth Hall - I haven't been since they received their lottery grant in 2007 and it really is lovely.

Only £2 per adult and £1 for children to look around the very interesting museum, a great children's playground, lakeside walks and a fab little cafe - we had a lovely time!!

Twiglet and I went swimming on Friday then dad dad dah!!

I was a steward at the Emley Show on Saturday - 9am - 5.30pm - blimey I'm still whacked !!

This is a sculpture in a box by a 10 year old - fantastic.

I helped out in the Childrens, art, crafts, baking and photography section, the work was amazing, hope you're enjoying the pics.

The quality and variety of work was astounding.

I loved these 4 seasons biscuits - brilliant !!

Lovely day though, very hot and we got rather sunburnt.

I entered my cross stitch and won third prize - there were ahem, three entries, that did make me laugh.
(Apologies for sideways pics, I must have been overcome)
These are the other two entries that came first and second, very nice too.

The judges commented that a lot of work had gone into mine (9 months, I think altogether) but you could see the cotton threads through the fabric - hey ho!!

There were some stunning handicrafts, here are some of my favourites.

The horticulture section was tiny this year - no doubt due to the appalling weather, own own crops are rubbish this year.

Isn't this miniature garden fab?
We got home around 5.45pm and went to Nana and Grandad's (Mr Twigs lovely parents) for a party to celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary, which was lovely.

Do you think I got a rest today?  well I did lie in until 9.40am, then off again to take Twiglet to a football birthday party - I need a rest !!

Have a fab week - it is tipping it down here just now and has been for most of the day - goodness knows how big the weeds are at the lottie !!

Well I"ve finally taken the plunge...................

After drooling over many blogs for months now I've decided to finally take the plunge, so here is my new dawn.
Hence the beautiful sunrise above as photographed by Mr Twiggy through our bedroom window. (I'm sure I'll be including a lot of his pics, hope he doesn't expect commision).

I love crafting and have ever since I was a little girl and spent hours playing with my mums button tin (which I've inherited) and amused my self by making dresses for my dollies - even though I'd cut their hair and given them green felt tip highlights. Punk Tiny Tears - I should have marketed this idea !!

Hope you enjoy my work as much as I've enjoyed others who are a daily inspiration to me.

I hope to share favourite blogs, books and anything and everything with you, so enough off my blithering on and watch this space...............................................
