That programme on BBC1 tomorrow, Twiggy Swaps Frocks or some such, it isn't me, ok? It's some 60s icon apparently who has stolen my moniker. I just didn't want you leaving messages saying ohhhh you're a bit glam and look very well for 59 etc. I'm not glam, but I don't look bad for 59, whether or not I look ok for a 30 something is another matter :)I've sadly neglected my blog and crafting over the last week or so as I've got ANOTHER blardy cold, I tell you working in a germ infested office and letting Twiglet go to nursery is not good for my immune system. It is obviously natures way of telling me we should be hibernating under Twiglets ducky blanket, wearing jolly PJs and watching DVDs. Sadly Mr Twigs and my bank balance don't agree. (Irrelevant photo of some of my buttons, I just like it, ok?)
Blimey did you UK peeps watch Tess last night, I knew what was coming but I still sniffled and claimed it was my cold making my eyes runny, but I am a bit of a big girls blouse when I have a cold ( I even filled up when Anton and Erin were dancing on Strictly) oh the shame.
Anyone any predictions about Strictly winners yet? I reckon Austin Healy is pretty good and think Christine Bleakley perhaps or Rachel Stevens, but it's early doors innit? (I really need to get a life, please reassure me I'm not the only one that spends Saturday night, scoffing chocolate, sipping wine and thinking yay sparkly, dancing is great etc..............)
I'm so pleased to say that my swap partner in Indigo Blues Christmas Decoration Swap is lovely, lovely Jennie at Falling Down the Rabbit Hole. I have my remit and must refind the crafting mojo. My Mother in Laws friend has also asked me to make her 6 Christmas cards - wahey, wonder if my MIL will expect a percentage?
Don't forget you've got until next Sunday evening to add comments on my previous post if you want to be included in my PIF, haven't the faintest what I'm doing for it yet. Hopefully it will kickstart my creative muse (think she's currently skulking in bed). This coming Friday is the night of Mr Twigs VERY EXCITING SECRET night out. I've managed not to blab yet, which is quite amazing...........................
Righto got to go and look at some really boring stuff about mortgages now - deep joy!! Then off to watch Juliet Stevenson on TV, I watch far too much telly at the moment that's probably why I'm not making anything, catch you later and have a good week.
Twiggy xx (1970s icon in a tartan kilt, red wellies and a Starsky and Hutch t.shirt. I know my fashion you know, that was what I was wearing in the 1970s not now, honest ;)
Sorry to hear you've got another snotty virus - I have to say that nursery/preschool was responsible for a lot of our past ailments. And then when they started school there were new ones! It does get better, honest. A bit, anyway.
ReplyDeleteI'm watching Strictly - I think Austin and Tom both look the business ;-) And on the X Factor? Are you watching that too? Oh, just me then? *blush*
Hope you find that crafting mojo soon - lots of people seem to have lost theirs all at the same time!

must be a yorkshire cold, I've had mine since Friday - four days! and the sore throat, hubby's pleased.. it means he gets peace and quiet!
ReplyDeleteand the house looks like a bomb's hit it but I managed some sewing
yet another machine cover. Can't wait to see what you're all making for the xmas swap.
...looks like its just me and kitty watching x-factor then.
Josie x x
I'm another one who did the choc/x factor/strictly thing this (and every) weekend! Don't worry- think theres a lot of us that should really be doing something else instead...
ReplyDeleteWine, chocolate and sparkly outfits are a definite must for a Saturday night (although I leave the outfits to the dancers and usually plump for PJs myself!). You can't beat it. I hope your cold is better soon - I've had mine for over a week now and am thoroughly sick of it.
ReplyDeleteCathy XX
Those little ones once they start school become like little germ magnets and bring all kinds of things home! I hope you will be over your cold soon, poor old you!
ReplyDeleteYou mean there are other things to do on a Saturday night - I was gutted when Anton was knocked out first!
ReplyDeleteTry taking some Vitamin C tablets to boost your immunity - but it does take ages to get used to being in an germy office!
April xx
Just love the buttons!!!
ReplyDeleteXVicky x
Hope you feel better soon. A little pump bottle of hand sanitizer at your desk might keep some germs away.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping in on my blog. Best of luck with your entry into my art print draw. I loved the argh, argh pirate theme idea of yours. My boys were only just pretending to be pirates this morning. I heard them say they were traveling from Germany to Australia. I asked them how did they arrive at Australia so quickly. My 5 year old rolled his eyes and replied, we traveled by space ship Mummy!
Eat lots of onions and garlic, Twiggy!
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm watching Strictly! I think Rachel will win...or Austin.
;-)
Hi! It's quite an age since I popped by, but have found my way again!
ReplyDeleteHello from Wicklow once again!
Try some echinacea Twiggy - works wonders for me. Hope you feel better soon xx
ReplyDeleteYou should have our own TV show anyway - rock up to the BBC and demand it! ;-) Hot bath and warm socks for the sniffles!
ReplyDeleteBlardy colds!! I've had the worst one in the world ever ever and it's really hanging on. Been feeling like a right grumpy old bizzum!
ReplyDeleteAs for Tess - yup cried too...even though meany Locket had told me the ending the week before!!
Strictly? LOVE it!! Minx and I just love oohing and aahing over the frocks. I think it'll be Tom or Rachel (cost Craig's got the hots for her...he could barely keep his tongue from lolling out on Saturday night...bleurgh!).
Get well soon Twiggy :)
