A few makes and a recommendation.

(We have plants growing all over the house at the moment).

Due to the inclement weather I have done a fair amount of stitching and a lot of reading over the last few weeks.

The house and greenhouse are full to bursting with plants for our lottie but when the rain stops for a couple of hours we are busy and vice versa!!

My main sewing project is a cross stitch which I am doing with a view to entering it into our local Country Show in August - but more on that when it's finally finished.

To break up the boredom of that - it involves sewing a lot of grass - I have done a few other little bits and bobs of cross stitch - my very favourite  craft.

Firstly, here is a little card for my Big, Big Sister's birthday - the kit came with one of my Cross Stitcher magazines.

Secondly, here is one of the little Easter bags I made and filled with choccy goodies.

I also did a duck and an Easter chick but my annoying netbook deleted the pics - grrr!!

I love this bag, but do think the rabbit has a touch of the Donnie Darko about it !!

Now onto the reading, we visit the library a few miles away every week for DVDs and books, I have read SO many recently.

I love libraries and love the opportunity to try something new.

I picked up a great book called The Sugar Camp Quilt by Jennifer Chiaverini a few weeks ago and loved it.

I chose it because the cover was so pretty but wouldn't normally have chosen this type of book (I'm a crime fiction kind of gal when I'm buying).

Anyhoo, I enjoyed it so much I ordered a couple more and they arrived today for the princely sum of 80p each - 80p to order a book sure beats the RRP on Amazon.

I heartily recommend them, great books and very pretty to look at, give them a try.

 Read any good books recently?

That's all for now.

  1. Your plants are growing well, just need it to dry up and warm up a bit now so you can plant them out. I like crime fiction usually but those books do look pretty I agree I'll look out for them

Well I"ve finally taken the plunge...................

After drooling over many blogs for months now I've decided to finally take the plunge, so here is my new dawn.
Hence the beautiful sunrise above as photographed by Mr Twiggy through our bedroom window. (I'm sure I'll be including a lot of his pics, hope he doesn't expect commision).

I love crafting and have ever since I was a little girl and spent hours playing with my mums button tin (which I've inherited) and amused my self by making dresses for my dollies - even though I'd cut their hair and given them green felt tip highlights. Punk Tiny Tears - I should have marketed this idea !!

Hope you enjoy my work as much as I've enjoyed others who are a daily inspiration to me.

I hope to share favourite blogs, books and anything and everything with you, so enough off my blithering on and watch this space...............................................
