Come outside

Here's my one and only alium, I love these they look like glorious fireworks!!
The first flower on my pride and joy lilies that I brought home from South West Cork 7 years ago, they even moved house with us.
Check out our fab potatoes plants, we're eating salad from our greenhouse and can't wait to get stuck into these.
Good old Mr Twigs has finished the raised beds, what a good boy!
Well we seem to have spent most of our time outside recently. Hasn't it been gorgeous?? Hope you like the pics of our garden.
Had a lovely trip to Greenhead Park this weekend too, so Twiglet could have a ride on the newly reopened mini steam train. I LOVE parks, what a brilliant resource, open space for everyone. Where else could you find families in the playground, blokes playing football and cricket, grandparents out with their families, cyclists, skateboarders, dog walkers, tennis players, bowls players .......... Parks are brilliant, I hope we always have them and people always use them. Here are a few photos for you, it was so nice to see the park so busy. We met some great people at the playground and I have to say that Twiglet was getting the glad eye from a few young ladies - unsurprising obviously :)Some of the most fun we've had this week is with 2 supersoakers we were given by a very kind Freecycler. Sadly we were having so much fun I didn't take any photos, so you'll have to take my word for it.
My ankle is on the mend and I've managed to hobble around the park and the garden a fair bit.
We also had a parents meeting at Twiglets new school, which went well and my neighbour told me her little boy has said he's very excited about Twiglet starting at school with him and he'll look after him, isn't that sweet :)
Anyhoo, apologies for the lack of crafting but hey family life is number one isn't it?
I'll make the draw for my giveaway on Saturday, so if you haven't signed up as a follower on Twiggy's Emporium page, you've got to be in it to win it.

  1. Is that flower in your garden? The lily? I thought they only grew in the tropics! Well done! x

  2. Hi Julia
It is, we have two huge bushes of Arum lilies, I kept seeing them on holidays in County Cork, just growing in gardens. I loved them so much, I came all way home in our tiny car on the ferry sat with them between my feet. Mr Twigs thought I was nuts, but they are soooooo beautiful. Every year when they grow back through we give a cheer :) We even transplanted them when we moved house 4 years ago!

  3. Lovely garden Ms. Twiggy! Doesn't home grown food taste the best. We have been eating salad from our garden for a few weeks now and just love it.

  4. lovely flower photo's and the salad garden looks great. Hubby said he was going to grow soon but never gets round to planting anything.
I used to love going to parks with hubby and son. Clifton Park in Rotherham used to be a favourite.

  5. Yes, like the pics of the garden. I've been spending lots of time out in the jungle, yes that's my garden! I am glad to hear your ankle is on the mend and that Master Twiglet will have a friend by his side when he starts school. Have a lovely time away, we will be away on a short break soon. x

Well I"ve finally taken the plunge...................

After drooling over many blogs for months now I've decided to finally take the plunge, so here is my new dawn.
Hence the beautiful sunrise above as photographed by Mr Twiggy through our bedroom window. (I'm sure I'll be including a lot of his pics, hope he doesn't expect commision).

I love crafting and have ever since I was a little girl and spent hours playing with my mums button tin (which I've inherited) and amused my self by making dresses for my dollies - even though I'd cut their hair and given them green felt tip highlights. Punk Tiny Tears - I should have marketed this idea !!

Hope you enjoy my work as much as I've enjoyed others who are a daily inspiration to me.

I hope to share favourite blogs, books and anything and everything with you, so enough off my blithering on and watch this space...............................................
