Now I have been lucky (see every cloud has a silver lining) as Mr Twigs had booked a lot of annual leave to use up his remaining hols, so if I was going to be out of action now is the time, he's been great. He and Twiglet have done lots of BOY STUFF together (which Twiglet has loved), and I've been left to my own devices. They're out at the moment buying timber to finish off the raised beds they've started - hooray didn't think I'd be seeing those until next year. Of course my Mum has been fabulous too as she always is, and is coming over tonight for a few days.
Anyhoo back to the crafting.
First of all, take a look at this wonderful parcel of fabric that I received from lovely Kitty, isn't it great?Must get my thinking cap on, have a few ideas buzzing around at the moment. thank you so much lovely lady.
Here are some very nice fabric pieces I bought during my last visit to Scrapstore.
How about this lovely Snoopy binding tape, I found a whole roll of it!!!
A couple of cards made for lovely friends birthdays.3 brooches and a pin cushion, the denim items are 100% recycled. (Excuse fuzzy photo). Here's my very favourite thing, Twiglet wanted a case for his Spiderman sunglasses and look who arrived. He was so easy to make and I love the retro look of him.
Last in the series of Ashes to Ashes tonight, what will I do without my Gene Hunt fix? I better go and make something.
And finally, Mr Twigs and Twiglet were rooting around in the attic the other day, so I said find me something interesting. Mr Twigs came downstairs with this.
Getting creative during tough times has obviously always been with me, I painted this in 2002 when my darling Dad was very ill in hospital. I forgot all about this painting and now have an urge to dig out my trunk of paints that have remained in the garage since we moved here 4 years ago. Mr Twigs is going to frame it and we'll hang it somewhere in the house. Twiglet says it's beautiful, it reminds me that it's good to take your mind elsewhere during tough times.
Have a great week.
love

ReplyDeletehave you heard they are going to film the lovely mr tennants hamlet for the whole world to see! i cant wait :D
Oh no! That happened to a friend of mine but she lacked your positive outlook and crafty talents - she spent a very miserable six weeks phoning everyone constantly and moaning about how she couldn't do anything!
ReplyDeleteAlthough it's going to be a pain for you, I'm sure you'll make the very best of a bad situation. Make sure you rest that leg though - ligaments are tricky buggers!!
xxxx
Oh poor you! Well everything is for a reason they say, its just one way of making you slow down, and giving you time as a family. Enjoy!Time is precious!

Ouch I tore the ligaments in my ankle years and years ago so I can feel your pain (((you)))
ReplyDeleteSeems you're certainly keeping your hands busy though ;) Loving everything and especially your beach hut painting.
Hey my word verification is restie :)
Sorry to hear about your ankle. The sunglass case looks great - I love the colors you choose!
ReplyDeletebad news about the ankle, but good news about the crafting, can't wait to see what you're going to make with all that fabric!

Sorry to hear about your ankle - still, it could be worse: you could be married to my husband. He's not done a single thing to help out while I've been ill and has had the cheek to complain that the house is a mess...
ReplyDeleteI like the beach hut painting. It reminds me of holidays as a kid.
