A Spring in my step..........

Finally, we have had some lovely weather, so last weekend we had some fresh air and culture at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Twiglet likes to go and look at the scooptures as he calls them. Good, muddy fun.
Do you think Spring has arrived? it has been glorious up here all week - apart from today urgh !!
I have spent a lot of time busying about in the garden this week, planting, clipping shrubs, clearing rubbish and I've really enjoyed being out in the chilly sunshine. I've planted lots of pretty primulas in my pots and above are a few pretties on my kitchen windowsill.

My lovely Mum has stayed over for a couple of days this week which is always nice. She said you play in the garden, I'll play in the kitchen and then made us puddings, scones and buns, aren't Mums brilliant ???Louise commented on my last post that my grotty bug has been replaced by a cleaning bug and I think she is right. I've been decluttering, sending stuff to charity shops, popping it on Freecycle and Ebay - phew no wonder I'm so tired today.I'm not the only busy bee at Twiggy Towers, we had Twiglets parents evening on Tuesday and I'm very pleased to say after a shaky start due to a 3 month long on/off virus he got rave reviews from his teacher. We are so proud of him as he has tried so hard and to hear him reading his phonics books makes me want to burst :) His school celebrated World Book Day on Thursday and he went as Thomas the Tank Engine - surprise !!!

Thanks to the 20 minute challenge over at Marmaladerose I've managed to be quite crafty this week considering. I'm really cracking on with my nieces wedding sampler but also made a few other bits. Now these are for my friend Helens new grandaughter. I'm going to make the cross stitch picture into a card. Here's a little baby taggie blanket I made.
I also made myself a HUGE pincushion in pretty Spring style fabric, I like something large to stick my pins in - oy cheeky!! (see above).
How about this hilarious little Spring chick, it gave me a chance to play with my glue gun that was a gift two years ago from Twiglet and I've never used it, what fun!!!Here are a couple of my ATCs made for March swaps for ATCs4all.
Oooo did you see 5 Days this week, David Morrissey in his swimming trunks made me feel quite beside myself. what is it about Davids? Anyhoo talking of hunks of manhood, I'll leave you with a photo of my two hunky firefighters, one of them appears to have his helmet on back to front.Twiggy xxx

  4. I am going to have to look up that sculpture park - looks pretty cool!
you reminded me of when baby fig was at school for world book day and went as a flower fairy - one parent said to me "isn't she a bit tall to be a fairy?" - I saw red and said "if my daughter wants to be Fairy - then she can be a fairy!"

    Love those firemen hats!!!

  7. I love how Twiglet is appreciating those scooptures. It looks a very arty place to visit. I started Spring cleaning with avengeance when we returned from Australia. I'm going to do a car-boot when the weather gets a bit warmer! I saw the first night of 5 days after having to prop up my eyes with matchsticks, and didn't see anymore as all other night's we just had to turn in early. That's what happens when you reach the dizzy heights of age 45-50! x

Well I"ve finally taken the plunge...................

After drooling over many blogs for months now I've decided to finally take the plunge, so here is my new dawn.
Hence the beautiful sunrise above as photographed by Mr Twiggy through our bedroom window. (I'm sure I'll be including a lot of his pics, hope he doesn't expect commision).

I love crafting and have ever since I was a little girl and spent hours playing with my mums button tin (which I've inherited) and amused my self by making dresses for my dollies - even though I'd cut their hair and given them green felt tip highlights. Punk Tiny Tears - I should have marketed this idea !!

Hope you enjoy my work as much as I've enjoyed others who are a daily inspiration to me.

I hope to share favourite blogs, books and anything and everything with you, so enough off my blithering on and watch this space...............................................
