My Lovely Dad............

Would have been 78 today if he had still been with us. Sadly he spent his last birthday (his 70th) in hospital. Anyhoo, we think about you and miss you every single day Dad.

Me and Mum have spent today smiling about the holidays and laughs we had, sitting outside in the sunny garden which I know you would have appreciated.Even though he never had the chance to meet you, whenever we pass the crematorium, Twiglet waves to Grandad Trevor in the flower country :)

Lots of love

  2. That was a lovely way to remember your dear Dad..sitting in the garden together and remembering how he was and all the good times you had together.I lost my Dad to cancer in 2001,and I feel close to him in when I'm gardening as that was something he enjoyed so much.

  5. Our Dad would have been 90 this month - we lost him 21 years ago. Like you, we have such fond memories and we always feel close to him when we are busy in the garden where he spent so many happy hours. Thanks for sharing.

  7. How lucky you are to have wonderful memories of your father. Remember that lovely film The Railway Children, Jenny Agutter calling her father, 'Daddy, my Daddy', brings tears to my eyes every time I think of it.

  8. Ilona, that is spooky as I haven't watched The Railway Children since my Dad died, just thinking about that scene makes me cry too:( Twiglet is train mad and his Nana said ooo shall we watch it last Christmas but I just couldn't.

This July will be 6 years since my Dad died and I realised yesterday that I have been bringing him into as many conversations as I can possibly can. We never stop missing them do we?

Well I"ve finally taken the plunge...................

After drooling over many blogs for months now I've decided to finally take the plunge, so here is my new dawn.
Hence the beautiful sunrise above as photographed by Mr Twiggy through our bedroom window. (I'm sure I'll be including a lot of his pics, hope he doesn't expect commision).

I love crafting and have ever since I was a little girl and spent hours playing with my mums button tin (which I've inherited) and amused my self by making dresses for my dollies - even though I'd cut their hair and given them green felt tip highlights. Punk Tiny Tears - I should have marketed this idea !!

Hope you enjoy my work as much as I've enjoyed others who are a daily inspiration to me.

I hope to share favourite blogs, books and anything and everything with you, so enough off my blithering on and watch this space...............................................
