Hasn't the weather been lovely? I'm making the most of it as I'm back to work next weekend, working 3 weekends on the trot, so please prepare yourself for my grumbles :)
We had a lovely Easter break, here are some of the photos as promised. Mr Twigs has some more on his laptop, so they'll have to keep for now.Firstly, a trip to Filey.
There were loads of children in the sea in their cossies - blimey !!
Lots of time in the garden. (Do you like the cowslip at the top of the page?)
Can you see the big fluffy bee?
Mr Twigs lovely rhubarb.
I love our water feature.
We also went to a very jolly birthday party at the Kirklees Light Railway with 10 little boys, noisy but fun :) the noise in the train carriage was deafening.
Here's the appeal bit.
Tracy over at Cupcakes@Home is doing a very lovely thing to help some very sad, neglected sheep. Please read about them and help in any way you can whether it's donating a raffle prize, buying raffle tickets or giving through Everyclick which won't cost you a bean. Here's a link Cupcakes@Home
So that's me for now, two posts in one day, don't get used to it and do let me know your favourite British things on the post from this morning.
Last but definitely not least. Thank you for all your VERY lovely comments on my post about feeling blue. Blogland is indeed a lovely place - but I already knew that.
Have a fabulous weekend.

I have not seen a cowslip since I left England a long time ago.I remember as a child, fields full of cowslips which we picked by the bucket load for my dad to make cowslip wine.
ReplyDeleteWild flowers are becoming rarer now unfortunately, hope my dads wine is not responsible for the decline of the cowslip.!!
I don't think there is any other flower with a more british name than the cow slip - it always conjours up such a funny image!
ReplyDeleteI just remembered another VERY british thing - VIMTO! - The worlds best drink/sweet/lolly/bonbon EVER CREATED!!!

Great photos, I love cowslips, you don't see them often. I saw lots of children in the sea last weekend, even though it was really sunny it must've been freezing in the sea. I go and check the sheep out.

Hi Twiggy,
ReplyDeleteI did leave a comment on your Power of Positive Thinking post but it doesn't show. Maybe you moderated it. However, A few things I love about GB are:
variation in weather (grey makes the sunny yellow all that much brighter)
the kindness of strangers,
the way we say sorry when someone bumps into us,
the way we never complain even when we've had really bad service and an awful meal - if someone says "How was your meal?" we say "fine thanks!"
free museums,
wildlife (stoats, rabbits, pheasants, foxes, birds etc)
our understanding and use of irony,
our beautiful churches
It's great the weather was kind for the school holidays. I'd love to visit Filey. The sea must have been cold though! My Dad's garden is full of cowslips, they are pretty, and my garden is full of fat bumbles! Would you believe as I look out of my window, it's raining! x
