Well, it was Twiglets Easter Service complete with Easter bonnet parade yesterday. It was gorgeous. They started with all the children wearing their fantastic hats and doing a little turn around the church. Then the littlies in Twiglets class shared their work - walking up and down the aisle showing us all their collages of Easter eggs :) the bigger children read a few poems with actions and then they had a jolly sing song. I ahem had something in my eye quite a lot. Even Mr Twigs cleared his throat manfully a couple of times :) Twas very funny when Twiglet spotted Grandma Twigs and inbetween the actions to the songs he was waving and giving us a thumbs up !!!!
Back to the school afterwards for a bunfight and Easter raffle and what a tiptop time we had. As ever our camera played up in the church, it must be the cold so, we only have one semi decent pic of our boy.
Here he is in his fab Easter bonnet - well top hat actually inspired by the Fat controller.

So what are you up to this Easter weekend? We are going on an Easter Eggspress train on Saturday and then out for dinner with Mr Twigs family on Saturday. On Sunday Twiglet and I are having a sleepover at Grandma Twiggys leaving Mr Twigs at home to lay new flooring in the lounge and dining room - lucky man.
As we've been so busy I haven't done any Easter crafting or decorating - might pop a little Easter display in Twiglets bedroom, he's insisting we don't go to Grandmas until Sunday as the Easter bunny might not know where we've gone :)
We did get time to make these pacman biscuits though!!
Like most children Twiglet is breaking up for Easter today, I'm really looking forward to having him at home. Mr Twigs has next week off so we're hoping we might squeeze in a few days out inbetween the flooring project. The thought of mooching round in our pjs is lovely. Twiglet has yet another party during the hols too - social butterfly- and we hope to catch up with our friends, so should be quite lovely.
He wanted me to show you the rock pool he's created for his lobster called Lobsti, he looks quite at home doesn't he?

I feel I am re-living my daughters childhood vicariously through your blog. It used to amuse me no end when the littlies came into church on the last day of term, all staring round trying to find mum to wave to. (sniff)
ReplyDeleteBTW - I had no idea Haribo was ven british, I had it in my head they were american! lucky you - we only have fake mill shops over here.
A for easter weekend - I had fancied visiting the South Lakeland Zoo - but the thought of all those freezing lemur's is a bit depressing!
Have a good one!

ReplyDeleteGlad he liked his Tractor - i was getting bits for our Littlies and just spotted it - just the thing for my little friend I thought.
Happy Easter floor laying! And lots of choccy - for all!
New Dr looks a bit young me thinks, not that I watch Dr Who, but I was impressed he was wearing a Harris Tweed jacket!

Ah, poor Mrs Twigs, can't imagine how you'll feel on Saturday night, I will be distraught enough and I am not quite so in love with the lovely Mr Tennant! But I do recall feeling upset when Chris left us and thinking it would never be as good, but it was. And then when it came back after all those years away and we all said "Billie Piper, who's bright idea was that?!" and she turned out to be brill. Waffling now, sorry!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the floor etc xxx
Lovely blog Twigs - as Wipso said - decorated hard boiled eggs - my class loved them - I used to put all sorts of crafty bits out and encourage them to draw a design first and then try and make it using the hard boiled egg on a little card stand. The results were amazing. If I can find my old pics I might blog them for Easter! Have a fab weekend. Jo

Right I've got my bags packed. Big one is away in the Isle of Wight on a Scouting Rally and the ex informed me today he's taking wee one for the night on Sunday so that means I'll be home alone. Eating choccy eggs with you sounds wonderful.
ReplyDeleteLoving those pac man biccys btw..inspired! And Master Twigs is a good lobster keeper, I'll be posting some pictures I took today of some lobster pots soon. He might not like that though..hmmmm.
