So over the next few days on UK TV we have Mr Tennant, Mr Armitage (see previous post) and blardy ALAN RICKMAN!!! - I'm all of a dither. Did you see The Song of Lunch this evening?? I swear that man could read the telephone directory and it would sound fabulous. Here's a link if you missed it.Here
I've mentioned this before on here, but just around the time the fantastic Truly, Madly, Deeply was released in 1991 we were lucky enough to go and see Alan Rickman play Hamlet.
I had flu and sat two rows from the front sniffling throughout but it was absolutely magic - what a super star.I must go and have a lie down now, I'm overcome :)
Have a great weekend.
Twiggy x
Oh no I missed it thinking it was on Sunday - thanks for the link!
ReplyDeleteHe is rather amazing isn't he? And as for that voice... x
ReplyDeleteMy days of swooning over pop stars and actors have long gone, but I do remember being in love with David Niven,!! I suspect he was a little before your time.
ReplyDeleteI did see the program you mentioned advertised ,but hubby wanted to see New Tricks instead,so missed it.
Just for the record-- Brian Jones--
Who drowned in a swimming pool, was my boy friend, when I was 15 years old, before he joined The Rolling Stones.
Have a good weekend.Carolyn.
I'm looking forward to 'Strictly' and then Downton Abbey on Sunday....loving that! Did you see David Tennant on Paul o Grady last night? :o)
ReplyDeleteSaw it, loved it, swooned.
ReplyDeletei quite understand the need to lie down - i love Alan Rickman - his voice is gorgeous!! Truly Madly Deeply is one of my fav films.

hehehe, I hope you recover soon - but I know what you mean with Mr AR - phwar! I love Truely Madly, but have to admit he was at his 'best' dressed all in black, swashing his buckle in Robin Hood. mwahaha!
ReplyDeleteOh lordy, forgot it was on. Thank goodness for BBC I-Player.
ReplyDeleteAlan Rickman - one of my faves! If you ever are in the area, and need a tour of Wentworth (allowing a full day as there is so much to see!!) then I can offer my services - I'll even buy you coffee and cake! I would love to do a post on flighty "Aunt Dolly" (my dads Aunt) but as some of my relatives rad my blog - I daren't. She was a right charachter. She had a perfect 1940's rolled hairstyle, rouged cheeks and ruby red lips - right up to her death. It is rumoured that her eldest child is the product of a liason with an American GI who was stationed at a camp nearby, and her affair with Lord Peter Fitzwilliam was no secret! Every other family member is so dull by comparison! xxx
ReplyDeleteI love him too... that voice!
ReplyDeleteI agree, there is something about Alan Rickman, for an older man! I need someone to slap me with a wet hanky. I've just been watching the lovely Nicky Hayden in Moto GP! x
ReplyDeleteCan you believe the word verification is nowsn, nearly spells swoon!
ohhh alan rickman!
ReplyDeletehi Honey I'm hoooooooooooome xxxx I have always had a bit of a crush on Alan Rickman xxx
