A Grand Afternoon out at Brodsworth Hall

Blimey we are busy bees at the moment.
Mr Twigs had a Governors meeting on Monday.
I had a Scout Meeting last night - they asked me if  I'd be secretary and I thought what the hey - Thursday night after school I'm helping to man the cake stall at our Summer Fayre and then we're whizzing off to Filey for the weekend on Friday - wahey !!

I will warn you now - this is a very picture heavy post !!

Anyhoo, back to this post, I'm having a quick break from housework to do it.
We had a lovely afternoon out on Sunday.
After spending the day with my Mum on Saturday to celebrate her birthday a week early as we're away this weekend we had a little trip.

We haven't been to Brodsworth Hall since Twiglet was in his pushchair and Mr Twigs noticed that there was a classic car show on, so off we went.

It is so beautiful there.
 Twiglet fancied the Bond Buggy.
This is just like my first ever car,a lovely Metro, but I had mine resprayed Ford Purple Velvet - apart from inside so it had red interior doors cos I ran out of money :)
 Anyone for croquet?
The gardens are glorious, especially because of all the rain we've had !!

This plinth was missing a statue, until we arrived.
 I love this little place.
 The rose pergola.

 Great playground.

We strolled down to the beautiful church, where the lovely ladies sell tea and home made cakes on selected Sundays to raise funds.
It is all delish, very under priced and served up on beautiful china.
Twiglet and I bought some cake to go !!
We then enjoyed our cake, sat on the lawns listening to a super brass band - there are brass band concerts throughout the Summer - have a look at the website for details.
A perfect Yorkshire Sunday afternoon - life doesn't get much better than this.

Have a great week.

Twiggy xx

  4. I love Brodsworth Hall!
I've just posted our visit there today!
We went to the classic car rally last year. I'm hoping to visit on a Sunday when the brass band is playing and the church is serving delicious cakes!

Well I"ve finally taken the plunge...................

After drooling over many blogs for months now I've decided to finally take the plunge, so here is my new dawn.
Hence the beautiful sunrise above as photographed by Mr Twiggy through our bedroom window. (I'm sure I'll be including a lot of his pics, hope he doesn't expect commision).

I love crafting and have ever since I was a little girl and spent hours playing with my mums button tin (which I've inherited) and amused my self by making dresses for my dollies - even though I'd cut their hair and given them green felt tip highlights. Punk Tiny Tears - I should have marketed this idea !!

Hope you enjoy my work as much as I've enjoyed others who are a daily inspiration to me.

I hope to share favourite blogs, books and anything and everything with you, so enough off my blithering on and watch this space...............................................
