Well it's all change round here. Twiglet has started 2 full days at nursery, Mr Twigs is working from home one day a week and I have utilised my time alone to go into a mad cleaning frenzy. Note to self - full days at nursery very bad for my back and diet, is Dairylea on toast and jaffa cakes an acceptable lunch?
Anyhoo, have given away another 5 bags of stuff on Freecycle and an artificial Christmas tree and re-organised cupboards after the BIG bedroom move, feel quite streamlined - well perhaps the house, not me:)
So apart from the Twiggy Towers blitz, we went out with our mates on Monday as usual, in the artic temperatures and pretty snow.
1. The usual lose some weight, I look like Baba Papa and I'm going to my friends wedding this summer - must lose weight or they won't see the bride cos of my huge behind.
2. Take up a new hobby, more about this later...................
3. Learn to crochet - again :)
4. Use up my fabric and card stash before buying more stuff.
5. Grow more veggies and actually use it ALL.
6. Make things instead of eating biscuits.
7. Recycle more stuff - inspired by Josie over at Sykes Silly Site.
8. Enjoy my time with Twiglet before he starts school next January.
A very enjoyable list rather than the usual self improvement stuff, thought it would be more achievable.
Thanks for all your lovely comments on my brooch, I'm working on another one at the moment which I'll show you when it's finished.
Now, I'm having a little giveaway as it's my birthday this month, yes 35 again - ho ho. Would you like to win this mini Miffy tote bag? sooooo cute, but I already have 2 Miffy handbags, so if you fancy a little Miffy loveliness in your life. Tell me why you love January.............................
It's the time for one of my favourite flowers. Just bought myself a little pot from the garden centre. I LOVE snowdrops.
Have a good week and stay warm.
love
Twiggy x
PS Poor old Grandma Twiggy has a very nasty bug so we haven't seen her for 2 weeks so send her some get well vibes please.
lovely pic of sunrise and thanks for saying I'm an inspiration for recycling.
ReplyDeleteI love january because it was my dad's birthday, my son's birthday the day after and also the month when me and hubby first met

I would say Jaffa Cakes are a valuable addition to the diet - surely the orangey bit in the middle counts as one of your 5-a-day?!
ReplyDeleteWell done on the recycling front - I too hope to do more this year.
Why do I love January? Hmmmm, well this particular one is a tad on the chilly side, but basically I love that we have proper seasons in this country, and the crisp cold of January is an important part of that. I too love snowdrops. I also love the 'January' picture of Mr George Clooney on my new calendar ;-)

Lots of love to grandma twigs, hope she is soon recovered!
ReplyDeleteJanuary, never been big in our house. We seem to have had lots of family deaths soon after christmas (all my grandparents (although not all in the same year) and my baby brother so we tend not to celebrate a new beginning until February which brings both my Mum's ans Francesca's birthday.
But I do love the chilliness that comes at this time of year. When else can you put on your pyjamas as soon as you get in from the school run!?

well wishes to your granny and your necklace is just awesome, What can I say about January, my birthday, my nephews, my sis , bro's GF, my Hub.. That's a lovely sunset picture and I'm sure dairylea is a mainstay of the diet.
ReplyDeleteI love January because it is the month Stephen and I got engaged and I love the first signs of spring appearing in the garden including snowdrops. The first ones are usually in flower in the garden before the month is over... gorgeous
I love January because it's the start of the year, which gives you the feeling that you can make all the good changes in your life to make it better... forever the optimist! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. And I will look to you for inspiration to give my house a good decluttering and see off a good few bags out of here. :)
ReplyDeleteFrom one January birthdayer to another Happy Birthday! Please come over and check out my giveaway. :)

Hello Twiggy, I am a stranger and I thought I would write on your blog. Am trying like the very devil to catch up but its very hard work! Anyway please enter me into your giveaway cos I love Miffy lots.
ReplyDeleteJanuary is loved by me because it is my girlies birthday! And although I am usually very depressed through January, not enough fairy lights, the thought of El's birthday cheers me right up!
Hi Twiggy. Oh I love Maisie Mouse...so do the kids obviously! Jan is my birthday month too so happy birthday to us! x
ReplyDeleteLove to Granma Twiggy!
ReplyDeleteI love Snowdrops- I had them on my Wedding dress & Bridesmaid posies (first time around when I went the whole hog with big white wedding!)
I try and plant at least one little pot of snowdrops (like the one you bought) in the garden once they have finished flowering. They are supposed to do better 'planted in the green'.
X love to all x
Wow your sunrise photo is amazing!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with keeping all your resolutions. I am trying to use up my craft and fabric stash too, but sometimes I can't help myself and there is always something I need!
Hope Grandma get well soon. Happy Birthday!
xx
What I like about January is that the buds on the trees are getting fatter and spring is just around the corner!!!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to be entered in your Miffy Giveaway :-)
I'd love to be entered in your Miffy giveaway as I just love love love all bunnies! And I love January too because there is so much to look forward to: the days are getting longer, the seed catalogues remind us of all the delights to come in the garden, my sisters (twins) have their birthday in January, and I passed my driving test last January.
ReplyDelete(BTW Dairylea is an important source of calcium!)
