What goes around comes around.

Being a child of the 1970s I've got a real soft spot for anything from that fab decade, so here is the charity shop find I mentioned a while ago that had me and my Mum oohing and ahhing. I found some magazines called Womancraft published by Good Housekeeping and they are wonderful. Not only is it interesting in a nostalgic way, it amazes me how much stuff I'd covet now, these blinds for example (excuse rubbish photo). Or how about this for the kitchen?I love these great fashion ideas for 1976, is that a Twiggy bando in the top left hand corner? I think the skirt with the loveheart patch pocket is soooo pretty and can remember wearing those cord skirts with the little frill around the hem. This advert made us both laugh, `so no -one will ever know you made it yourself'. I'd be more likely to wear a badge saying, hey I made this myself!!!! Brilliant patchwork quilts, the green and yellow reminds me of 1970s cheese and onion crisp packets.
I have lots of this stuff to share, so keep watching. I've managed to do a fair bit of crafty stuff this week but haven't got round to taking any photos yet, so I'll leave you with these that are now in my shop and will pop back at the end of the week.
Take care.

PS Did you see Mr Tennant at the Baftas the other night, you know who put a spring in his step don't you :)

  3. I love finding things like that in the charity shops, I've still got my old craft books from when I was a wee crafty Taz and I love looking through them still.
Loving your bandana/scarves something like that would be brilliant for my incredibly bad hair days LOL

  6. Twiggy, these magazines are fantastic! I wish I lived near to you so I could come round to have a thumb through the pages. The 70s is the era I show most sentiment towards. x

  8. Oh, I love finding old craft magazines and books. I found five folders of Golden Hands a few years ago. I still have them - have never made anything out of any of them but can't possibly let them go!

I love those quilts and your Twiggy bandanas are fab!!

Well I"ve finally taken the plunge...................

After drooling over many blogs for months now I've decided to finally take the plunge, so here is my new dawn.
Hence the beautiful sunrise above as photographed by Mr Twiggy through our bedroom window. (I'm sure I'll be including a lot of his pics, hope he doesn't expect commision).

I love crafting and have ever since I was a little girl and spent hours playing with my mums button tin (which I've inherited) and amused my self by making dresses for my dollies - even though I'd cut their hair and given them green felt tip highlights. Punk Tiny Tears - I should have marketed this idea !!

Hope you enjoy my work as much as I've enjoyed others who are a daily inspiration to me.

I hope to share favourite blogs, books and anything and everything with you, so enough off my blithering on and watch this space...............................................
