Ok here goes, I've been a blogger for a relatively short space of time but I love it and I really appreciate you lovely people out there, that take the time to read my ramblings and look at my crazy craft projects and leave such kind comments - Hey is this one big love in or what!!!????
So as a little thank you I'm announcing my first ever Pay It Forward.
In a nutshell leave me a comment and you may win a prize handmade by yours truly. Hmmm will that put you off I ask myself?
Anyhow, all I ask you to do is ...................
1. leave a message and an answer to my question...............
WHEN YOU WERE A CHILD WHICH FICTIONAL CHARACTER/CHARACTERS DID YOU MOST LOVE OR IDENTIFY WITH?
Easy peasy.
2. As the title of my post suggests if you're the winner Pay It Forward and spread a little happiness on to someone else, lets see how long our chain of loveliness can go !!!
The competition is limited to one entry per person. I will end the competition at 8.30pm on Friday 21st March, put all names in a hat and draw out a winner.
I will then send out your prize within a week upon receipt of your postal details.
Righto then, well here's my answer to the question, when I was very little I LOVED Hartley Hare from the 1970s childrens TV programme Pipkins (showing my age here), he was such a drama queen and think that many of my characteristics may be down to his influence :) Ialso loved Dougal from The Magic Roundabout who was a bit of a drama queen, oh dear there is a bit of a pattern here, I think I'll shut up now and hand over to you..................................................
Feel a bit remiss that I've not replied to the thread on the forum, but love the sound of this. Bit like Karma, good karma gets passed on...
ReplyDeleteBut to answer the question (and it will date me!) I identified with George from the Famous Five - was always a tomboy, and always longed to go on one of those adventures on Kirren Island...
take care, and be happy
Cassidy
hi twiggy
ReplyDeletethe character I most identified with was Nancy Drew
she was such a hero to me,, always on the ball, girl power in the early sense
oh and hartly hare,, what a god !!
Oooooh ... that's a toughie Twiggy.
ReplyDeleteLady Penelope would probably be my #1 choice. Quite fancy being a lady ... so different from the real me LOL! :)
Ths may sound a little strange but, I really liked Toad from "The Wind iN The Willows". Watched that quite a bit when I was little and remember the books so well.

I would say I was more like Miss Piggy from the muppets. I could be a bit of a tom boy and any lad that said anything wrong to me got a smack around the head, (or in one case I forgot I had gone to the shop to get a tin of soup for my mum and hit him with the soup in my hand still), ops sorry Darren but then again just how heavy is miss piggy's hand bag ha ha ha.
ReplyDeleteTold you I was made at times Sarah and you want to meet up with me.
Me and Cammy will get on so well
Helen
Hi Twiggy!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting me at daylilylane! I would like to send you a "pay it forward" gift. I only had one response to mine and since you are doing one I will consider you my second response. Visit me at my email address to leave your address and I'll send it out within the next week! Hugs, Jan@daylilylane
I used to identify with "kizzy" the main character from a book called the Diddakoi" by Rumer Godden, because she was a quiet shy child who got picked on a lot....
ReplyDeleteJosie
I'm really enjoying reading these.
ReplyDeleteCass - I love your good karma comment, just how I see it.
wow Nancy Drew,Lady Penelope,Toad, Miss Piggy, Kizzy, Hartley Hare, this is painting a fabulous picture in my mind.
Keep up the good work

Hey Twiggey
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely idea this Pay It Forward is? I would love to take part, so my answer to your question is MONGO from Mary, Mongo & Midge {another Watch with Mother}
Mongo was such a moaner, but funny with it, I remember I used to laugh when he used to grumble about going up in the lift *rofl*
Anyone else remember that programme?
Jane x
Hi Jane
ReplyDeleteI do remember that show yes, tho it was Mungo lol not Mongo
hey ho
another fave of mine, tho hardly a role model was Chorlton from Chorlton and the Wheelies xx
Ohhh TV heaven, I remember both those programmes, remember Crystal Tips and Alistair? Crystal Tips was my nickname at school due to my big curly hair - stop laughing it's NOT funny :)

Hi Twiggy, I'm new to this blog world! This sounds fun, something everyone can join in! I just loved the Waltons, I use to dream of being one of the children and living in that idillic place! I even had the family calling out 'Nite john Boy' etc at bed time.
ReplyDeleteTake peek at my blog an say hello
xxVickyxx
Hi Twiggy - fantastic idea. I am a huge believer in karma! When I was a child I wanted to be Nancy Drew - she was fearless(so unlike myself) and smart! Good luck to you

ReplyDeleteI've been blogging since Sept 2007 and this is the first time I have heard Pay It Forward mentioned, I think it is a great idea, I am all for spreading happiness amongst my blog friends. I used to LOVE Hartley Hare too, I used to watch Pipkins around at my grannies. The pig always being hungry was funny too, maybe that's who I could identify with now! To be able to only to choose one character is very difficult, but I shall say Bagpuss, the saggy old cloth cat puss! x
ReplyDeleteI used to love reading the 'Twins at St Claire's' books and I really used to wish I could go to their boarding school it sounded like such great fun - I love the idea of pay it forward - natalie x
ReplyDeleteHello and thanks for your kind comment on my blog. I use to love the Famous Five and also The Railway Children and was thrilled when my mum bought be a Railway children style dress to wear!!! I guess I would have loved to have been one of them!
ReplyDeleteKimx
Great Idea! Now your probably going to think this very strange but the fiction character I wanted to be and I suppose still do abit is Nancy from Oliver Twist!
ReplyDeleteLoving all the children's programmes! (As you are aware, me being a nostalgic kinda gal, I love things like this!)
ReplyDeleteI would say that I loved Sara Crewe in 'The little princess' but I don't know if I identified with her, I just loved that her Father got her a gorgeous doll and also the part where she is living in the attic and she wakes up in the morning to find the cold attic transformed into something magical.
As for tv I think Bagpuss was my favourite, that or Mr Benn.
(I also liked the Red hand gang, I think I've always wanted to fit in with groups of people but never quite managed it).
p.s I have left you a little award over at my blog. :D
ReplyDeleteAww thanks Jennie, you make my day too :)
ReplyDeleteTwiggy x
Hello Twiggy, thankyou for the lovely comment you left on my blog, it gave me a nice smile.
ReplyDeleteI always wanted to be one of the children who visited The Faraway Tree, I wanted to go to 'Topsyturvy Land' and eat Silkies exploding toffees, and slide down the tree on the mats....... I still would like to if I could find it...... big sigh!!!
Hugs Lynnxx
I always wanted to be Emily from Bagpuss, mainly because my name is Emily, but I thought it would be really cool to have your own shop :)
ReplyDeleteAlso loved the Faraway Tree, and I still can't ever order Pear Tart in a restaurant without bursting into a fit of giggles about how one of the girls ordered it in one of the lands at the top of the tree, and she ended up with a tart covered in little pastry bears as the waiter (an alarm clock i think!) misheard what she said.
Hi there, I love your blog - thanks for visiting mine.
ReplyDeleteIn answer to your question - I would have to say Pauline Fossil from Ballet Shoes, I have read that book so many times and always identified with her. Another one would be Darrell from Malory Towers or Ann from The Famous Five as I love to be a homemaker - even when I was tiny it was what I saw in my future, wife and mummy and baking yummy cakes!
April xx
